The Judeo-latin group’s new album and its Allstar urban music are out !! Agua Pa’ La Gente features many guests from jewish and latin music, such as members of the groups Santana, Jaguares, The Klezmatics, Los Abandoned, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Midnight Minyan and Orixa.. Would it be the jewish response to El Gran Silencio ? The latin smash return to the Beastie Boys’ attack ? But let’s not label – the Hoodios are moving both jewish and latin music at the same time. From latin funk to klezmer, with cumbia and old school hip hop on the way, the Hoodios represent the very best of this trans-trend.

Agua Pa’ La Gente is both the title and the mood of the album : committed lyrics and frenzied ad-libs. « 1492 » witnesses the group’s (joined here by Frank London from the Klezmatics) musical maturity for a soul-jazz exploration of a history in History : how the spanish Inquisition managed to hide their jewish roots from millions of latin-americans. The new album was produced by Happy Sanchez (Los Mocosos, Latin Soul Syndicate), and contains twelve tracks made of madness, remixes, racoons, and a lot more things..
